Spam filters are the biggest stumbling blocks that obstruct Email Marketers from the path to Inbox. Marketers need to satisfy spam filters in order to avoid automatic spamming of mails. One such criterion is Image to Text Ratio.
In general, spam filters ask for 60:40 Texts to Image ratio. In other words, there should be at least 60% text and not more than 40% images in an Email Newsletter. In addition to this, one more rule has been evolved over the years that at least 3 images should be there. Though, popular Service Providers like Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail are not so rigid with their specifications but their acceptance level also relies largely on the reputation of sender. However, it is always a better option to follow guidelines to the maximum to be on the safer side.
A very useful tip in this context is when in case it is required to put more text to comply with the rule of image to text ratio, add text in the footer. This will not only keep your content focused but also convince the spam filter anyway.
In short, just stick to basic rules to get assured to Ping Inbox, Not Spam!
